Mario Barbaresso

President and Chief Executive Officer

Mario Barbaresso is an energy industry veteran with a proven history of success in building and growing companies that meet the power system needs of commercial and industrial customers.

Prior to Power Survey, Barbaresso was CEO of Benning Power Electronics where he led a complete shift in Benning’s product line and company mission resulting in an unprecedented period of sales growth and revenue increases.

Before joining Benning in 2003, Barbaresso managed a number of operations for Emerson Network Power, Nortel Networks, and Advanced Power Systems in Canada, Europe, and the United States.

Throughout his career, Barbaresso has established a history of streamlining manufacturing and supply chain processes, revitalizing product development efforts and boosting profits.

Barbaresso is a certified member of the Canadian Engineer Board, and has graduated from Quebec’s Ecole de Technologie Superieure in 1986 with a Bachelor’s degree in Power Design and Power Transmission. He is fluent in French, English, and Italian, and has been trained in numerous project management, negotiation, and conflict management courses.

Keiran Coulton

President, GE Energy Global Industries

Keiran Coulton has over 30 years’ experience in Manufacturing Industries. He joined GE Energy as the President of GE Energy Global Industries in January 2011, He drove accelerated global growth across the Energy portfolio, using both organic and inorganic strategies, in the industrial segments of Mining, Petrochemicals, Metals, Food & Beverage, and Heavy Oil. Solving Industries toughest problems using a global team of sales, marketing, and application engineering personnel to deliver superior value to customers in these segments. Keiran brings extensive experience in general management, sales and marketing, arriving at GE after more than 25 years at Rockwell Automation, where he supplied services and products to industrial and commercial customers on a global scale. His most recent roles at Rockwell included Senior Vice President Global Industry Solutions, based in the US; and President Asia Pacific, based in Hong Kong. Prior to his work at Rockwell, he spent eight years with the British Royal Navy where he served as a Weapons Electrical officer. He currently advises Advent International on the Industrial marketplace and has successfully participated in a number of successful campaigns. He also advises the City of Suining Sechuan China on their industrial policy and has numerous engagements in Oil and Gas equipment sector.

He is a British Citizen and gained his Engineering credentials at the University of Southampton UK. He also holds a US Green Card and resides in Florida

Michael J.S. Edmonds

President US Business, S&C Electric Company

Based at S&C Electric Company’s headquarters Chicago IL, Michael Edmonds is the President of the US Business with P&L responsibility. This consists of all aspects of the business goto market strategy for the USA market to solve customer problems ranging from traditional switching & protection, grid reliability, power quality, energy storage, micro grids, asset management, grid network control, software and the grid connectivity systems required to enable the grid. Previous roles at S&C include VP Strategic Solutions and Global Director Smart Grid covering strategy, product management and marketing.

Prior to joining the S&C Electric Company in 2010, his previous roles included VP & GM of Siemens Energy Automation and Power Technologies Inc (PTI). With these positions he was responsible for the business of real time energy management (EMS/DMS) and network planning businesses.

Chris Hutter

Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, PowerSecure Internatinal, Inc.

Christopher T. Hutter is the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of PowerSecure Internatinal, Inc., an energy products and services company serving utilities and large industrial and commercial customers. PowerSecure was an NYSE-listed company until 2016, when it was purchased by Southern Company, one of the largest utilities in North America. PowerSecure has delivered industry-leading growth and serves customers with distributed generation, energy storage, microgrids, energy efficiency, and utility infrastructure solutions. Prior to serving as PowerSecure’s COO, he was the company’s Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining PowerSecure in 2007, he was employed in various management positions from 1993-2007 with ADVO, Inc., a NYSE‐listed marketing services company. ADVO was also acquired by a large strategic buyer, Valassis Communications, Inc., in 2007. Early in his career, Chris worked at the accounting firm Deloitte & Touche. Chris has an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, and a B.S. in Accounting from Case Western Reserve University.

Sylvain Lanoue

Sylvain Lanoue completed his collegial degree at the Montmorency College as a technician in electrodynamic then completed his bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering at the École de Technologie Supérieure (ÉTS) and is member of the ‘’Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec / Quebec engineer association’’ (OIQ) since 1991.

Evolving in the manufacturing field for over 25 years, Sylvain worked as an engineer for Hydro-Québec, Manager at ABB and finally at Power Survey International as an owner and Co-President of the company until he sold most of his shares in 2016 to EnerTech Capital and Quebec Investment.

Sylvain’s career provided him the opportunity to gain different responsibilities in engineering, R&D, sales, marketing, production and business management. More than 25 years has been dedicated in the electrical market specifically in the energy saving and Power Quality field combined to the industrial, commercial and utility sector which has permitted him to acquire a vast and solid experience in commercialising his products through different market partnering with several business partners throughout the world but mostly in North America with electrical distributors, manufacturer representatives, resellers, OEM, engineer consultants and general & electrical contractor partners.

Sylvain is a Director on the Board of Director at Power Survey International and is a private investor.

Scott Ungerer

Founder & Managing Director, EnerTech Capital

Scott Ungerer, Founder & Managing Director, created EnerTech Capital in 1996 and is a pioneer in energy technology investing. Scott held several positions through his 16 years at the New Jersey-based energy holding company, Atlantic Energy, ultimately rising to President of the non-regulated business units. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Power Survey Ltd., GeoDigital International, N-Dimension Solutions, Inc and Tangent Energy Solutions. He is also a board member of Enbala Power Networks, and the NanoSteel Company. Prior portfolio company experience includes the initial public offerings for Capstone Turbine (NASDAQ: CPST), Pac-West Telecomm (NASDAQ: PACW), VerticalNet (NASDAQ: VERT), Catalytic Solutions (London: CTSU), Intellon (NASDAQ: ITLN), Clean Air Power (London: CAP.L) and Comverge (NASDAQ: COMV), and the acquisitions of CoaLogix, Transportation.com, Coastal Security Systems, Intellon and Extant. Scott focuses on power technologies including smart grid and energy efficiency, natural gas distribution, and transportation technologies. Scott is also a member of the Advisory Board for E-Source. Scott received a BS in mechanical engineering from Princeton University.

Jacques Poulin

Mr. Poulin cumulates over 30 years of experience in telecommunications, in renewable and energy storage as well as in composite materials. He is currently an officer and the VP of Sales and Business Integration at Group NanoXplore, a graphene producer and advanced materials and composites company. Prior to this, Mr. Poulin held several executive positions at Emerson Network Power, including Vice President for Product Management and Marketing, for R&D and for Sales. He was also Director for Energy Storage in Transportation at ABB and a founder and CTO of Solpowered, a solar EPC firm in Ontario. Mr. Poulin holds a degree in electrical engineering and an MBA from McGill.

Mélanie Kfoury, M.Sc., IAS.A

Founder and President

Mélanie Kfoury is a skilled executive with 20 years of experience in professional services, growth strategy design and corporate development. Prior to being a partner at KPMG (strategy and operations) for three years she was a partner at the SECOR Group, a private strategy firm headquartered in Montreal with offices in Toronto, Paris and New York, and sold to KPMG in 2012. She started her career in technology at Accenture.

Mélanie is known to be pragmatic, results oriented and a growth catalyst. She leverages her experience across knowledge based sectors to create value. She has worked with the C-Suite of an extensive number of start-ups, mid-sized and multinational TSX listed companies, with a focus on complex sectors and high growth companies.

She also studied international business at IECS Strasbourg, in France. She holds a DEC in Pure and Applied Sciences.

She is a regular guest speaker at executive forums including: Cercle des Présidents, QG100, KPMG Insurance conference on Big Data, Forum Matières à Solutions EEQ, Événements les Affaires on Innovation, etc. and published in Première en Affaires Magazine.

Amit Srivastava

Senior Partner

Amit Srivastava is Senior Partner at Cycle Capital. He has more than 30 years in operational, Venture Capital, cross-boarder transactions and fund management in high tech companies. He
is also Chief Executive Officer of Entrepia Ventures. Prior to that, he worked for seven years at JP Morgan Chase, including four years at JP Morgan Partners (formerly Chase Capital Partners),
where his responsibilities included leading venture capital investments in the electronics sector, oversight of private equity investments in India, and serving as the Portfolio Manager of a private equity portfolio of over 700 investments in the United States, Europe, Latin America and Asia, with an aggregate carried value exceeding US$10 billion. Before he worked at JP Morgan Chase, Mr. Srivastava was a Principal for five years at Mercer Management Consulting,where he advised major global IT and communications companies on strategy, business development and operational effectiveness. Earlier in his career, he held marketing and engineering management positions during five years at Texas Instruments.

Amit holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India, a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, New York, and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Peter Gross, PE

Vice-President, Mission Critical Systems, Bloom Energy

Peter Gross leads the Mission Critical Systems group at Bloom Energy, the leading manufacturer of solid oxide fuel cells. Prior to joining Bloom, he was the Managing Partner for HP’s Carbon, Power and Critical Facilities Services where he was responsible for strategic technology planning and business development. He was the co-founder and CEO of EYP Mission Critical Facilities, Inc., the premier consulting and engineering firm dedicated to the design and operations of data centers. In this position, he has played a pivotal role in the rapid growth of EYP MCF’s business since its founding in 1997, leading to its acquisition by HP in 2008.

Peter is recognized as a thought leader in the mission-critical information, communication and infrastructure design realm, has published numerous technical papers in the field and is a frequent speaker at international events. His focus centers on mission-critical facilities, high-reliability design, power quality, energy and sustainability. Peter has more than 30 years’ experience in the engineering and design of power systems as applied to data centers, trading floors, command and control centers, and telecommunication and broadcasting facilities.

Peter has been at the forefront of many innovative concepts that have contributed to the data center industry evolution. He was co-awarded patents for the modular, pre-fabricated FlexDC product, for Direct Current power distribution topologies in data centers and for fuel cells data center architectures.

Peter is the recipient of 2010 Data Center Dynamics “Outstanding Contribution to the Industry” award. He was quoted in many publications, including The New York Times, Businessweek and Computerworld.

A Senior IEEE Member and a Registered Professional Engineer, Peter was one of the contributors to IEEE Standard 3006.7-2013, “Recommended Practice for determining the reliability of 7×24 Power Systems in industrial and commercial facilities”.

In 2012 he joined the Ontario’s High Performance Research Computing (HPRC) Strategic Advisory Committee. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of UCLA’s Institute of Environment and Sustainability and of Southern Methodist University’s Data Center System Engineering Board of Advisors. He graduated from the Polytechnic Institute of Bucharest with a degree in Electrical Engineering and received an MBA from California State University. Peter lives with his wife in Santa Monica, California.

Steve Roy

Chief Technology Officer

Steve Roy is a technological visionary who is a deep background in translating that vision into commercialized power industry products.  Formally the Global Product Manager for DC Wayside Power at ABB Canada where he was responsible for the research and development programs for traction power rectifiers, energy storage and recuperation systems with the corporate research center team. 

He has over 30 years of design, engineering and product management expertise in the field of power conversion in high tech companies, such as Spar Aerospace, Nortel, Emerson Network Power, Envitech Energy and ABB.

Wilsun Xu

NSERC industrial research chair professor, University of Alberta

Dr. Wilsun Xu is currently a NSERC industrial research chair professor in power quality in the University of Alberta. He is an international authority in power quality, especially in power system harmonics. Dr. Xu was awarded IEEE Fellow in 2005 for outstanding contributions to the measurement, analysis and mitigation of power system harmonics. He has been a member of the IEEE harmonic Std. 519 since 1992. Dr. Xu serves frequently as a panellist, seminar speaker and session chair in various conferences, and as an expert consultant for industry. He is currently the Editor-in-Chief for IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery which is the most prestigious international journal covering the subject of power quality.

Prior to joining the University of Alberta in 1996, Dr. Xu worked in Powertech Labs Inc and BC Hydro as an electrical engineer. His job responsibilities included the development of BC Hydro’s harmonic guide for transmission customers and the investigation of harmonic problems in transmission systems.

Dr. Xu obtained Ph.D. from UBC in 1989. In additional to publishing a number of technical papers, Dr. Xu has successfully transferred 3 of his patents to industry.
